Wasukee Residence


Wasukri Residence
located in the residential quarter is the Library of the 7 th Holiness Prince Patriarch of Rattanakosin period, Krom Phra Paramanujit Jinoros. The Prince Supreme Patriarch was one of the most famous Thai poets and was honoured by UNESCO ast he Great Poet Laureate.
Many of his works are literature for all standard Thai elementary and seconday school students, such as Kritsana Sorn Nong, Lilit Talengpai, etc. One of his famous poems says that “We should always behave good so that our good deeds will be remembered forever though our body had been burnt”.
Walking all over this monastery you will be fascinated and more educated by many kinds of magnificent creative arts, and the intellectual cultural heritage descended from the ancient Thai ancestors

Somdet Wat Po Library
This building was constructed in commemoration of Somdet Phra Wannarat (Phuan Tissadatto Pali IX), who was the tenth abbot of Wat Pho in 1948 (2490 A.D). The original building had been demolished to be replaced by a 3 storeyed building which was finished in 1999 (2542 A.D.). It is situated within the monks' living quarter on Chetuphon road.
The First Floor is the temple's library where the data and hisory of Wat Phra Chetuphon are collected.
The Second Floor is the conference room where statues of the temple's 14 abbots of Wat Pho from the past to present are enshrined.
The Underground Floor is a museum where the temple's precious items as well as those bestowed by the kings are stored, including the blue-and-white ceramics, the crystal wares, mother-of-pearl inlaid and ivory items.
