WAT PHRA PRATONE CHEDI

WAT PHRA PRATONE CHEDI

An old Monument which is believed to enshrine a gold measurement container used for measuring relics of the Lord Buddha. The previous stupa was in the style of Dvaravati and later restored in the reign of King Rama IV (1851 - 1868 A.D.). There used to be a discovery of a Buddha image, beads, Dvaravati votive tablets and a bronze statue of Garuda inside the stupa. It is considered to be one of the most important archaeological sites of Dvaravati period in Nakhon Pathom Province.
